Decaf Brazil Catuai

Caramel | Nutmeg | Red Apple

Description

Fazenda Primavera is a renowned coffee farm located in Angelândia, Minas Gerais, where the lush Atlantic Forest meets the dry Cerrado biome. Sitting at elevations between 950–1050 meters, the farm benefits from an ideal climate for specialty coffee, with steady temperatures (20–24°C) and moderate rainfall.

Spanning 1,240 hectares, of which 670 are dedicated to coffee, Primavera produces around 12,000 bags annually. The farm grows mainly Red and Yellow Catuai, along with other varieties like Topazio and Gesha. Equipped with advanced infrastructure—including a vast drying patio, electric dryers, and processing facilities—Primavera supports a range of processing methods: Natural, Pulped Natural, Honey, and Fully Washed.

Sustainability is at the heart of operations: water used in processing is recycled into energy, and coffee pulp is turned into compost for natural fertilization. The farm's innovation-driven approach includes intercropping with shade trees, raised bed drying for microlots, and constant cup profile evaluations.

After being acquired in 2022 by a new partnership led by longtime operations director Ronaldo Morais Pena Filho, Primavera continues to embrace cutting-edge techniques and evolving consumer preferences. A standout offering includes Swiss Water decaffeinated coffee, using a chemical-free, water-based process to remove caffeine while preserving flavor.

Primavera is part of the Chapada de Minas region, known for its dramatic plateaus and river canyons. With a legacy in coffee dating back to the 1870s, the region is vital to small producers and the local economy, and continues to evolve with both Natural and growing interest in Washed processing.
